Two GNLA linkmen held in Meghalaya

Guwahati, July 20 (IANS) Two alleged GNLA linkmen have been arrested in Meghalaya, a BSF official said Friday.
Mikson R. Marak, 21, and Luthar Sangma, 25, were held during a joint BSF and police operation in the Salbari and Khorang Basti areas of West Garo Hills, the official said.
The duo have been accused of helping the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA), a militant outfit, in extortion and other illegal activities.
In another incident, BSF arrested a man in West Garo Hills for allegedly smuggling fake Indian currency notes, said an official.
Abdul Ajad Miya was arrested from the Kalaichar area.
BSF also recovered from him fake Rs.500 denomination notes amounting to Rs.10,000 and a mobile phone with a SIM card from Bangladesh.
