BSF organises awareness programme on AIF/AIDS

Shillong, Mar 21: An HIV/AIDS Awareness programme was organised by the BSF Frontier Headquarters in Shillong on March 19.
BSF sources said today the function was graced by Mr P S Raghav, DIG and Principal Staff Officer of the frontier as the Chief Guest.

Dr V K Singh, DIG (Medical), Composite Hospital BSF, Shillong informed the audience about the spread of HIV/AIDS and the importance of making the people aware of this disease.


''Since no definitive cure has yet been found for HIV/AIDS the only cure for it is in its prevention,'' Mr Singh said.

To involve the audience in this endeavor of awareness, a quiz competition was organised.

Members of Meghalaya States AIDS Control Society Ms Rubina, Ms Mamta, Ms Christine and Ms Lorina also briefed audience about the HIV.
