345 recruits join BSF in Jammu

From New Kerala          Jammu, May 29 : As many as 345 fresh recruits has joined Border Security Force at a passing out-cum-attestation parade function organised at Udhampur district of Jammu region, official spokesman here today said.


‘’345 recruits joined the force after 36-week long rigorous training of weapon handling, map reading and counter insurgency operations at a passing out parade held at STC Centre Udhampur yesterday,’’ spokesman here today said.

They said that Deputy Inspector General BSF, STC, Asif Ali was the chief guest on the occasion and took the salute.

He in his address said, ‘’BSF is mainly deployed to guard the borders but in the present scenario they are also performing duties of concerning internal security of the region.’’ Mr Asif added that the force had always performed better in counter insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir besides Assam and Naxal hit areas.
