Rangers, BSF quarterly coordination meeting held

LAHORE, Aug 9 (APP)- Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) and Indian Border Security Force, held its quarterly coordination meeting at JCP Wahga (Indian side) on Monday.Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Deputy Director General Brig Shafqat Nawaz Khan led the 13-member delegation comprising Pak Rangers (Punjab), Survey of Pakistan and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in the meeting, while the BSF delegation headed by DIG Shri C. Vasudevan.

According to Rangers spokesman, the Pak delegation raised the following points in the meeting:
The unprovoked firing by the BSF on civilians and border out posts on Working Boundary; apprehension and killing of innocent inadvertent border crossers and illegal defence construction by the Indian Border Security Force; violation of Pakistan Air Space by Indian helicopters and RPVs (Remote Control Pilot Vehicles); illegal border crossing and smuggling inconnivance with the BSF troops; and Release and repatriation of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails.
Besides above mentioned points, the ANF officials would discuss various aspects to check and control precursor smuggling and sharing of intelligence with their counterparts to curb the menace of drugs smuggling through India-Pakistan border.
Later, Brig. Shafaqt Nawaz told media that they effectively took up the above said issues with the BSF, which agreed with them on most of the points.
He said that they had convinced the BSF that dialogue was the only solution of every dispute.
