The militants of Tripura continue to face the heat inside Bangladesh, according to Mr Pranay Sahaya, all set to take charge as Special DG of BSF in Kolkata. Addressing his final press meet as DGP Tripura he told reporters that as per the latest available information, ATTF has five camps and NLFT 13 camps there. And compared to the 45 camps that the outfits had previously in Bangladesh this is certainly a low figure. The cross border movement of militants has also dwindled drastically.

When his attention was drawn to the fact that Ranjit Debbbarma and Biswamohan Debbarma still remained aloof from the long hand of law, he said their movement inside Bangladesh is being monitored closely. He exuded confidence that they too will be brought to book along the lines of action taken against the top ULFA leaders. He said latest information points to the fact that both the leaders of the two banned outfits remain in Bangladesh, This despite the fact that there has been a movement towards Myanmar of the cadres of the major insurgent outfits of the North East.
