BSF trooper injured in Bishnah blast succumbs, toll reaches 3

Srinagar: The toll in the Bishnah explosion rose to three, with the death of one more man at the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu on Friday night.
33-year-old Avinash Singh who was critically injured when a shell exploded inside his Kotli Kothey residence in Bishnah Friday morning succumbed to his injuries at the GMC, Jammu last night, hospital sources said.
The blast also left Avinash’s three-year-old daughter Lovely and his son Kulbir Singh dead. Five more family members are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Avinash was a constable in the paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF).

Police sources said that the shell exploded when the family members apparently tried to extract crude metal from explosive device. They said the house also suffered damages in the blast that was heard in the radius of two kilometers.
