A jawan of 199 Battalion of the BSF, Radha Krishan, a resident of district Gurdaspur, posted in Fazilka sector under Ferozepur district, reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.
He was on duty at the Sher border observation post. According to reports, a companion of the deceased heard the gunshot and rushed to the spot and noticed that the profusely bleeding Radha Krishan had died.
DIG BSF Vimal Satyarthi said the reason for the suicide could not be known. An investigating is on.
