Agartala (Tripura), Apr 3: The Border Security Force (BSF) recently organized a health camp under its civic action program in Tripura to improve civil-military relations.
Hundreds of people of Kathalia village in West Tripura thronged the one-day health camp.

Doctors and medical staff attended over 1000 people of all ages and provided free health checks up, prescriptions and medicines to patients.

" We organized such camps once or twice every year to improve civil military relations. So that people contribute their bit for national security and a higher level of scrutiny on the borders can be achieved, said D R Singh, Deputy Inspector General, BSF, Gokulnagar

"The BSF has helped us a lot by giving us free treatment and medicines. As hospitals are far away so these camps are very helpful, said Suraj Mian, a local.

Tripura shares an 856-km-long porous border with Bangladesh, which is often used by traffickers, smugglers and militants. The BSF patrols this border and takes care of the security with the cooperation of the people of the region.

During the camp, officers of the BSF interacted with the people and distributed water purifiers, books, stationary and different sports items for students. By Pinaki Das(ANI)
