BSF organizes Civic action programme in Maoist strong hold in Odisha

Report by Kishore Dash & D.P.Dash; Malkangiri: While continuing to focus on the better BSF-Public relationship, the 107th Battalion of BSF was today organized a massive civic action programme at remote Anjariguda village, some 7 km from Maoist strong hold Chitrakonda on Thursday. The programme was aimed at providing a common platform for the tribal villagers to interact with the BSF officials on various issues concerning their daily life. 


The BSF officials who received overwhelming support from the local tribal villagers on the occasion were left no stone unturned to ventilate the grievance of the tribal folk during the programme. A large number of people from adjoining villages also attended the civic action programme conducted by the BSF. It is worthwhile to mention here that BSF is helping the tribal population by conducting various programmes like medical camps and civic action programmes for the benefit of tribal villagers.
Inaugurating the pro-people programme, BSF Commandant J.R.Khaswan said main objective of the BSF was to share the feelings of the tribal folk on a common platform and providing them all assistance to them. We are giving more stress on the friendly relationship with the tribal population while ensuring the safety & security of the people. While highlighting the mission of the BSF, second-in- Commandant Rajkumar said the people should come forward to restore peace in the region.
The BSF officials were distributed utensils, stationary items and other materials among the tribal villagers during the programme.This apart, a mega free medical check up camp was organized on the occasion, where the villagers were examined by the BSF doctors and medicines were distributed to the needy patients.
The programme which was resulted at providing the health service at the door step of the needy was quiet helpful for the poor tribal villagers.
