Bangalore, Aug 30: The mortal remains of 30-year-old BSF Jawan K P Lokesh, who was shot dead at Kurala in Jammu on August 28 while fighting enemies, was cremated at Karigowdanakopalu in Hassan district of Karnataka with full state honours today.
The body which was brought here in the early hours was kept in the Deputy Commissioner's Office for the public to pay homage.
Lokesh, who was working at a hotel in Chikmagalur, was inspired by Hotel Manager, an ex-serviceman, to join the defence forces.
He was fascinated with the BSF when his uncle Devraje Gowda joined the Army.
He joined BSF at the age of 18 years.
