Kushtia, Oct 18 (bdnews24.com) — The Indian Border Security Force have released the five Bangladeshi teenagers, 11 hours after they were taken away from Daulatpur in Kushtia.
Locals said Udaynagar BSF personnel took the teenagers around 6:30 am on Monday while they were cutting grasses near pillar – 153 along Daulatpur border. They were released around 5:30 pm after a second flag meeting between the BSF and BDR officials.
The teenagers 'Faruk', 'Tareq', 'Ghetu', 'Faruk (2)' and 'Sumon', were residents of Bhangapara village of Ramkrishnapur Union under Daulatpur. Their age ranges between 12 and 17.
Ramkrishnapur Union Parishad chairman Kudrat-e-Khuda said tension was prevailing in the area.
Earlier this year, BSF members took away several other children from the border area of Thakurgaon district and later released them.
