715 new recruits joined BSF family

Srinagar, Nov 19 : As many as 715 new recruits today joined the Border Security Force (BSF) family after completing 38-week-long training at Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) at Humhama in the central Kashmir district of Badgam.
The recruits, 703 from Bihar, four from Jammu and Kashmir, three Punjab, two each from HimachalPradesh and Tripura and one from WestBengal, participated in the attestation-cum-passing out parade at STC.
A senior BSF officer took salute at the march-past by the recruits who earlier took oath ''Service Unto death''.
A BSF spokesman said the training of the recruits started in February this year and completed today.
He said the constables were trained in border management, tactics counter insurgency operations, weapon handling, drill, map reading and advance combat training.
They will now ensure to promote sense of security among the border population and will act as strong ''Seema Prahari'', he said.
