SUIGAM: : When the camelcade of Border Security Force's (BSF) Gujarat Frontier concluded its 10-day safari on Tuesday at Banaskantha district's Suigam village on India-Pakistan international border after traversing 410 km, it disseminated two messages to two different segments of audiences. For the Indians, the message was all is well on the international border and to the inimical forces across the border, the point to be made was that the BSF is alert to all challenges.
The team of 11 men on camels were given a rousing welcome by people amid the beating of drumbeats and patriotic songs played by the paramilitary force's camel band. The camel cavalcade 'Jeevan Paryant Kartavya' had returned after covering the sandy Little Rann of Kutch and camped at Bakasar, Mavasari and Radhanesada before reaching Suigam in Banaskantha district of north Gujarat. The expedition was launched on November 13 from Munabao in Barmer district of Rajasthan under the leadership of assistant commandant Rakesh Kumar Meena.
Deputy inspector general, BSF, R S Rathod, said, "The objective of the camel safari was to explore the remote areas of the desert and the Rann, to establish cultural and ethical bonds with the locals and to create awareness about BSF's role in safeguarding the frontiers."
