Fake Indian currency smuggled from Pakistan seized

Sleuth of Special Operation Cell (SOC) of Punjab Police here today seized Fake Indian currency smuggled from Pakistan Rs. 1.20 lakh having denomination Rs. 500 with the arrest of accused Shinder Singh.
 
Confirming the arrest of accused Shinder Singh and seizure of Fake Indian currency smuggled from Pakistan, AIG SOC Manminder Singh said that arrest of accused matured with the joint operation with BSF (Indian Border Security Force). The accused was arrested outskirt of the city.Accused was booked under section 489A, B, C, 420, 120-B IPC.
 
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the recovered consignment was a part of a bigger consignment which was recently smuggled from Pakistan. The arrested accused Shinder Singh was released from Amritsar Central jail about 2 years ago where he was lodged in connection with a case pertaining to smuggling of illicit liquor. 

It was during this time, that he had come in contact with some notorious Fake Indian currency smugglers lodged in the same jail. After his release he started working as courier for these smugglers.  Investigations are being conducted on different lines to unearth the complete nexus and network of this gang. More arrests are likely in short span of time, said Manminder Singh.
