PTI | 10:09 PM,Sep 27,2010Turning to the smuggling of fake currency from Bangladesh to India, Srivastava said it was a matter of concern for not only BSF but many other Indian agencies like DRI, Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) etc. BSF alone had in the last five years seized fake currencies worth Rs 86,41,290, he said and added that smuggling of fake currencies was on the rise. But it was not true that all the fake currencies were being printed in Bangladesh. Rather, these were printed in some other places and Bangladesh and Nepal were used as transit routes, he said. The BSF DG said work for erection of wire fencing along Indo-Bangla border was over for two-thirds area of the total border stretch. He said both BSF and BDR agreed on joint border management or joint coordinated patrolling besides initiating confidence-building measures.
