Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Raman Srivastav on Monday met Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and senior police officials to iron out coordination problems between the Central forces and state police to conduct anti-Maoist operations. Srivastav said that the BSF jawans are fit and ready for operation.
He also said that development work in certain places was being held up due to lack of security forces. “Now that we are there, development works like road repair, construction of bridges, hospitals places will start,” he said.
Meanwhile, while the state government claimed success for killing Maoists in different encounters, the CPI(Maoist) demanded a judicial probe into the killings calling them ‘indiscriminate murders’.
